To draw this peppermint, I used a chalk medium. It was definitely the most difficult medium to use. It was difficult to blend the the colors smoothly together while not wiping away all the color pigments. However, it was a little bit easier to show the wrapper around the candy while using this medium.
Colored pencil was the easiest medium to use for this project. It was very easy to show the blending and shading of colors. Also, if I made a mistake, it was a little bit easier than chalk or oil pastel to cover up. It was very simple to smoothly show the shading of the colors and show where the wrapper creases or bends. Because I used a black paper, instead of a normal white piece of printer paper, it was easier to show the highlights on the lollipop.
Oil pastel was the last medium we used. This medium takes practice to get used to since the pastels are very waxy. For me, it was very difficult to show the wrapper on the candy. It was also difficult to show detail within the wrapper or candy. In order to show more detail, this medium should be drawn to a bigger size.
